About a Campaign
North Korea leader Kim Jong Il died the other day. I wonder if they would launch a political campaign to get Kim's third son elected to be the next leader. Just kidding...lol
In my opinion, in a sense, a political campaign= (fund raising+ fighting opponents+ policy proposals) X media.Fund raising, fighting opponents, and policy proposals are the key components of a campaign whereas their impacts will be magnified by the power of mass media and social media. Mass media like TV, radio, and newspaper have existed for decades and been known to most people. Social media such as twitter and facebook are quite new yet equally effective. For a page or an account on social media, one important thing is the posting, and the other is the traffic and the number of followers and "like"s.
For fund raising, we could learn from successful politicians or get help from them. For traffic, we need help from celebrities. Some celebrities help their friends promote their FB pages or get more followers on twitter. For some people with talents, ideas, and thoughts, they just need a platform or channel to have their voices heard by a broader audience. Words and music could be more powerful than armies.
Funds and traffic are the key to the success of this campaign of "think different" or "new life, new world" and a revolutionary movement of "think&act" to promote freedom, democracy, equality, and peace. As for policy proposals, we could review previous and current policies, brainstorm concrete solutions with the team and through out-sourcing and crowd-sourcing. We will make every effort to unite as many people as possible and bring them together to work with us through sharing our beliefs, building mutual understanding, and making connections.
The way I see a big picture of the economic priorities of the US federal government could be to:Create jobs and boost the housing market; regulate the banking systemand financial system; and leverage the economy with fiscal, monetary, and trade policies.
We could use social media for educational, research, political, and business purposes (through adding some features to them and merging them with some websites).
I will share my views on some hypothetical rules of nature such as Matthew effects with some theories and examples later on.
